St. Alban's Lodge, chartered in 1771 by the Grand Lodge of England, is one of the oldest lodges in Connecticut. During the American Revolution, however, our lodge was split by the political turmoil between Patriots and Loyalists, and ceased to meet for several years. After the Revolution, we obtained a new charter from the newly-formed Grand Lodge of Connecticut and became No. 38 (see our Lodge History Section for a more detailed account).
Traditionally a Guilford lodge, a town to which we retain a strong tie, we today meet in Branford, and welcome men from any locality, religion, nationality, cultural background, and walk of life. As Masons, we measure all individuals by the content of their character, in a spirit of brotherly love, friendship and equality.
The Masonic Fraternity does not invite anyone to become a member, instead we wait patiently for that special man to knock on our door and seek admittance. Perhaps your visit here is that "knock" on our door.
We hope this site interests you in becoming a better man, and joining the oldest, largest, and greatest Fraternity in the world. |
